Aleksandar Timotic (*1992) is an opera singer and performer artist. Aleksandar was born in Serbia where he started his music education. Aleksandar finished his masters studies at the prestigious “Folkwang university of arts” in Essen, Germany by professor Martin Wölfel. Aleksandar’s soft, round alto-coloured voice allows him to sing a wide repertoire from baroque to modern music.. He has performed in different theaters until now (Theatre Lübeck "Tolomeo", G.F. Handel 2020 , Bayerische Staatsoper “Nose” D.Shostakovich 2022/24, etc.). At “Folkwang University of Arts” Aleksandar studied performance art under Marina Abramovic, through her mentorship he created the piece “Are you hungry ?” “In this performance, I invite the public to peel potatoes with me. I also sing traditional folk songs, which carry so much tragedy in self-destructive love. Music and food are the only two spaces where emotions are allowed in my country”. This piece was first performed in the Folkwang Museum in Essen (2023) and later in Southbank Center in London (2023) as a part of “Marina Abramovic Institute”. Aleksandar reinterpreted the "Potato Opera '' by Fluxus artist
Henning Christiansen from 1969 at the museum “Moyland” (2024). Aleksandar loves to express different forms of art in his work, especially through music and long durational activities, as well as interaction with the audience. Aleksandar finds a lot of inspiration for his work in the Balkan culture. Aleksandar will perform in Asia for the first time in 2024 in the Indonesian festival “Indonesia Bertutur” 2024 and prestigious “Bangkok Art Biennale”
อเล็คซานเดอร์ ทิโมทิชเป็นนักร้องโอเปราและศิลปินนักแสดง เกิดที่ประเทศเซอร์เบียและเริ่มเรียนดนตรีที่นั่น จบปริญญาโทจากสถาบันอันทรงเกียรติ “มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปะฟอลค์วัง” เมืองเอสเซน ประเทศเยอรมนีโดยได้เรียนกับศาสตราจารย์มาร์ติน เวอลเฟิล เสียงระดับอัลโตที่นุ่มและมีมิติของอเล็คซานเดอร์ช่วยให้เขาสามารถร้องเพลงได้หลากหลายแนวตั้งแต่บารอกไปถึงสมัยใหม่ เขาได้แสดงที่โรงละครหลายแห่ง (เช่น "Tolomeo" ของจอร์จ ฟริดริก แฮนเดิลที่โรงละครลือเบ็คเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2563 “Nose” ของดมีตรี ชอสตโกวิชที่โรงโอเปราแห่งรัฐบาวาเรียเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2565 และ 2567 และอื่น ๆ) ที่ “มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปะฟอลค์วัง” อเล็คซานเดอร์ได้เรียนศิลปะแสดงสดกับมารีน่า อบราโมวิชซึ่งได้ช่วยให้คำปรึกษาในการสร้างสรรค์การแสดงชื่อ“Are you hungry?” เขาเขียนอธิบายงานนี้ว่า “ในการแสดงนี้ขอเชิญทุกท่านร่วมปอกมันฝรั่งกับผม ผมจะร้องเพลงพื้นบ้านที่มีเนื้อหาเป็นโศกนาฏกรรมจากความรักที่สร้างความหายนะให้ตัวเอง ดนตรีและอาหารเป็นพื้นที่สองแห่งเท่านั้นที่ผู้คนจะแสดงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกได้ในประเทศผม” งานชิ้นนี้แสดงครั้งแรกที่พิพิธภัณฑ์ฟอลค์วัง เมืองเอสเซน (พ.ศ. 2566) และต่อมาก็แสดงที่เซาธ์แบงค์ เซ็นเตอร์ กรุงลอนดอน (พ.ศ. 2566) โดยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ “สถาบันมารีน่า อบราโมวิช” อเล็คซานเดอร์นำ "Potato Opera” ที่เฮ็นนิง คริสเทียนเซ็น ศิลปินกลุ่มฟลุกซุสประพันธ์ขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2512 มาตีความใหม่แล้วแสดงที่พิพิธภัณฑ์ “ม็อยลันด์” (พ.ศ. 2024) อเล็คซานเดอร์ชอบใช้ศิลปะหลายรูปแบบในงานของเขาโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งดนตรีและกิจกรรมที่ดำเนินต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลานานรวมทั้งการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับผู้ชม อเล็คซานเดอร์ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างงานอย่างมากจากวัฒนธรรมคาบสมุทรบอลข่าน
ในปี พ.ศ. 2567 นี้อเล็คซานเดอร์จะได้มีโอกาสแสดงในทวีปเอเชียเป็นครั้งแรกที่เทศกาลศิลปะอินโดนีเซีย “อินโดนีเซียเบอร์ตูตูร์” และ “บางกอกอาร์ตเบียนนาเล่” อันทรงเกียรติ
