Rob Crosse is a visual artist and filmmaker. He studied photography at Arts University Bournemouth and completed his MFA in Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. He was a participant in the Berlin Programme for Artists from 2019 to 2020.

His work and research emerges from questioning the prevalent association between ageing and decline. Through video, photography, sculpture, drawing and performance, he documents people, plants, and investigates methods of care and support. Crosse’s working process often involves engaging with communities and support groups of older people over long periods of time. Through close observation, the act of looking runs parallel to the act of caring where the approach to documenting others in intimate settings is continually re-assessed. The non verbal communication and rhythmic soundscapes of his videos offer new possible meanings around life cycles of things and beings.

His work has been shown as part of Orangerie of Care (nGbk, Berlin, 2024); Love is Louder (Bozar, Brussels, 2024) Chaleur Humaine, (Triennial Art + Industry, Musées Dunkirk, 2023); Plant Fever (Kunstgewerbemuseum, Dresden, 2023). His videos have been screened as part of Room in a Crowd, (ICA, London Film Festival, 2023); Last Remnants of Nature, (Neu Nationalgalerie, Berlin, 2023); Voices, (Staatlische kunstsammlung, Dresden, 2023). In 2020 he was awarded the Ars Viva Prize along with Sung Tieu and Richard Sides. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany
