Supawich Weesapen received his BFA in Painting from Silpakorn University. He connects natural, mythical, and cyber phenomena, creating works of enigmatic energy and radiance. He employs digital aesthetics while looking towards the spiritual and sublime, referencing the virtual world alongside age-old symbols and legends. Weesapen draws out the entanglements of our environments and inner worlds, giving form to infinite and amorphous auras through oil paint. He weaves together asynchronous realities and paradigms, finding new perspectives of contemporary being and relating. Weesapen’s debut solo exhibition, The Comet and the Nostalgic Souls, was held at Nova Contemporary in 2023. His works have been included in Made in the Dark (Clearing Gallery, 2023); All is Prettier. Part II: Arrival (100 Tonson Foundation: Bangkok); Hexagon (Nova Contemporary, 2022); and belong to the collections of X Museum, Beijing; Samdani Art Foundation, Dhaka; and 129 Art Museum, Nakhon Ratchasima. Weesapen lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand.
